| ACCUMULATION OF DEBRIS/TRASH/GARBAGE All exterior property areas and premises within the Town limits need to be maintained in a clean, safe condition free from the accumulation of debris, trash, and/or garbage. All trash needs to be secured in a plastic bag, and the plastic bag needs to be placed inside of a leak-proof trash container with a tight-fitting lid. PARKING OF RECREATIONAL VEHICLES, WATERCRAFT, PERSONAL UTILITY TRAILERS, AND RECREATIONAL EQUIPMENT TRAILERS IN RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS In a residential district, recreational vehicles, watercraft, personal utility trailers and recreational equipment trailers need to be parked behind the front line of the main building on the lot (usually a house), and needs to be parked at least five (5) feet off of the side property line. In the case of a corner lot, they must be parked to the rear of the house. PARKING OF COMMERCIAL VEHICLES IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS The parking of commercial vehicles in residential areas is prohibited. These provisions do not apply to a property within the R-B residential business district if the property is used for commercial purposes. These provisions will apply to home occupations.
WEEDS/TALL GRASS All properties where the grass/weeds/foreign growth has reached a height of at least twelve (12) inches is in violation of the Vinton Town Code. This does not apply to areas that are naturally forested or to property located in an industrial district that is allowed to grow for hay. ![]() |
